Red Sea Salt – 160 gal – BoxRed Sea Salt contains biologically balanced, elevated levels of thefoundation elements(Calcium, Magnesium, Carbonates) necessary for sustainable, accelerated coral growth. Red Sea Saltis ideal for reef aquariums, in particular for LPS and SPS corals, and for growing coral frags.ParameterSalinity:35 ppt (1.025 sg)Calcium:415 445 ppmMagnrsium:1240 – 1320 ppmAlkalinity:7.5 – 8.5 dKHPotassium:375 – 405 ppmAll-natural Eco-friendly harvesting from the waters of the exotic Red SeaBiologically balanced levels of foundation elementsFull complement of trace elementsGuaranteed parameters for 10 liter / 2.5 gal mix.No nitrates or phosphates (algae nutrients)No toxic levels of Heavy MetalsNo chemical bindersLow moisture contentRecommended usage of Red Sea Salt:Red Sea Salt will produce stable seawater with a pH of 8.2 8.5.Parameters are based on dry salt mixed with RO waterNatural seawater includes over 70 chemical elements and although most of the elements influence the water parameters, a few of them have a more significant role in its overall chemical stability. These elements form the foundation of the reef environment and they include the three major elements:calcium, magnesium and bi-carbonates.These three foundation elements have a major effect on thewater chemistry (pH stability, alkalinity, seawater ionic strength) and on many of the corals biologicalprocesses (skeleton formation, ion- exchange, photosynthesis).Unlike the natural reef environment, where there is an immense reservoir of the foundation elements, the reef aquarium has limited resources that are quickly depleted by the aquarium inhabitants. Therefore, in order to enable sustainable coral growth it is necessary to maintain higher than natural levels of the foundation elements.Original research carried out in Red Seas laboratory has shown that in a closed system (an aquarium)a specific ratio between the foundation elements of calcium, magnesium and carbonates (alkalinity) isnecessary for coral vitality and the formation of a robust aragonite coral skeleton. This ratio must be maintained especially when increasing the levels of the foundation elements above the natural sea levels.Red Sea Saltis made according to these ideal ratios and remove the need to adjust the levels offoundation elements after water changes and significantly improving the wellbeing of corals.Product code: 8812Item No. SA-RS-11062
